PPAP software is a digital system for compiling, reviewing, submitting and approving Production Part Approval Process packages. The 18 PPAP elements defined in the AIAG PPAP manual are: design records, engineering change documents, customer engineering approval, Design FMEA, process flow diagram, Process FMEA, control plan, measurement system analysis (MSA) studies, dimensional results, records of material and performance tests, initial process studies, qualified laboratory documentation, appearance approval report, sample production parts, master sample, checking aids, records of compliance with customer-specific requirements, and the Part Submission Warrant (PSW). FAST PPAP tracks each element as a structured, versioned record inside the package.

Level 1: only the Part Submission Warrant (and appearance approval report where applicable) is submitted to the customer. Level 2: PSW with product samples and limited supporting data. Level 3: PSW with product samples and complete supporting data — the default level in most customer agreements. Level 4: PSW and other requirements as defined by the customer. Level 5: PSW with product samples and complete supporting data made available for review at the supplier's manufacturing site. FAST PPAP configures the required element set automatically based on the level you select.

The Part Submission Warrant is the one-page summary document that fronts the entire PPAP package. It declares the part number, drawing and engineering change level, reason for submission, submission level and the declaration that all results meet customer requirements. It is signed by the supplier and dispositioned by the customer as approved, interim approved or rejected. FAST PPAP generates the PSW automatically from package data, so the warrant always matches the evidence behind it.

APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) is the five-phase planning framework that guides a new product from concept through launch. PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) is the formal evidence package produced near the end of that journey to demonstrate the production process can consistently produce conforming parts at quoted rate. In FAST Quality the two are linked: deliverables created during the APQP project — FMEAs, control plans, MSA studies, capability data — flow directly into the PPAP package without re-entry.

A new or updated PPAP submission is typically required for a new part or product, engineering changes to design records or specifications, a new or modified tool, production from a new or relocated plant, a change of sub-supplier or material source, a process change that affects fit, form or function, or resumption of production after tooling has been inactive for an extended period. FAST PPAP records the reason for submission on the PSW and maintains the revision history of every package, so re-submissions start from the approved baseline instead of a blank sheet.
